So many women in the church today are exhausted by the mistaken belief that God's purpose for them is rooted in what they do. We've come to believe that if we try hard enough, we can measure up; if we marry the right man or have enough children, we'll have arrived; if we do the right studies and read the right books and volunteer more, we'll be "good Christian women."
This belief is wounding the hearts of women in the church--all because of a misunderstanding of God's purpose for us as women. It's not rooted in what we do, it's rooted in who God is. In his loving plan, he created us to imitate him and to find true flourishing by living as his image.
Elizabeth Garn takes us to Genesis to reexamine the all-too-common misconceptions that surround image bearing, filling and subduing the earth, and living as women in God's world.
